We’re thrilled to welcome Mud & Guts, an outdoor adventure company, to Stubbings this May for an exciting workshop in our woods!
Based in Wiltshire, Mud & Guts has been inspiring children for over twelve years, teaching them essential outdoor skills like shelter building, fire lighting, and navigating the wild. With a dedicated following of private clients, schools, and hotels, they bring a fantastic blend of bushcraft, nature education, and classic outdoor games—designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and, most importantly, ensure plenty of fun!
During the workshop, children will get hands-on experience with shelter building, campfire cooking, tracking, and basic foraging, alongside engaging games and challenges. It’s all about muddy knees, big smiles, and discovering the magic of the natural world.
We can’t wait for Mud & Guts to bring their energy and expertise to Stubbings—join us for an unforgettable outdoor adventure!
Details about the venue
This outdoor adventure will be held in and around the Estate, within the surrounding woodland and within the gardens.
Please could you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to start time, so we can do our head count and briefings & get into the woods all the sooner.
What To Bring- In a robust backpack or holdall
- Spare clothing. Socks, mid layer & waterproof jacket.
- Snack
- Water bottle. Ideally 1 litre.
PLEASE COULD YOUR CHILD COME DRESSED IN LONG SLEEVES, TROUSERS AND TRAINERS OR WALKING BOOTS.

Ticket information
Due to the nature of this beautiful isle, some days, and activities, may have to be altered to accommodate the idiosyncrasies of our weather. However please rest assured, that, all alternative plans will be of similar nature and carried out in the same spirit as the original days advertised.
Please note, adults are encouraged not to attend the event with the child, as we wish to encourage confidence. However, parents are required to stay on site throughout the duration of the workshop.
