Outdoor theatre comes to Stubbings as we welcome back touring theatre, Quantum, returning this summer with their adaptation of the Dickens classic, Great Expectations.
A terrifying encounter with an escaped convict on the wild Kent marshes; a summons to meet the decaying Miss Havisham; the sudden appearance of a mystery benefactor – this series of events change the orphaned Pip’s life forever as he eagerly abandons his humble origins to become a gentleman.
From the misty marshes to the dusty, dirty streets of London; we bring you a brand new adaptation of Dickens’s most enduringly popular and atmospheric novel which delivers high comedy and dark drama as we follow Pip’s journey through adversity to discover the true nature of his ‘great expectations’.
Great Expectations is very faithful to the book’s themes, characters and mood so it is suitable for adults and children over 11 years old.

Details about the venue
This event will be held within the walled garden. The performance is in the open air. Please bring a chair or picnic rug and prepare to be entertained and transported.
Alcoholic beverage, hot & cold drinks and snacks will be available to purchase from the bar.
Times: The gates will open at 6:30pm, with the play commencing at 7:30pm. The running time is approximately 1 hours and 30 minutes including a 10 minute interval.
This is an outdoor production, so please bring a chair or blanket to sit on, a picnic to dig into, and dress for the weather! Chairs, picnics, blankets and any other low-level accessories are welcome. In case of rain, please don’t bring umbrellas as they block sight-lines for other audience members. Ponchos and raincoats are just as fetching, so please wear these instead.
Tickets: £16 adults, £11 children (15 years and under)

Please bring something to sit on such as a camping chair or picnic blanket. Please do not bring alcohol into this event.
The event will always go ahead in the event of bad weather. Please check the weather forecast in advance and be prepared for the Great British Summer.
